Unit 2: Learning Artifact #1
Analyzing & Synthesizing The Interviews
This first learning artifact is where you will analyze and synthesize results from all the informational interviews across settings and CRCs. You might feel overwhelmed by this task and that is ok and natural at this stage of figuring out what to focus on. Take a deep breathe. Remember, there is no right or wrong answer. You've delved into the forest with specific details shared in your interview, and now you'll be taking a step back to view the profession from the big picture. Different people may see different things and that is what makes this activity exciting is to view the profession from different perspectives.
Here's some guiding probes that might help you as you analyze and synthesize the results:
- What commonalities do you see across settings?
- What differences do you notice between settings?
- Think about how CRCs describe their scope of practice and their roles and functions. How are they similar and different?
- Are different knowledge and skills needed for different settings?
- How do CRC's engage in advocacy? How are these activities promoted across settings or does it seem like advocacy is highly individualized?
- What type of social justice do CRC's engage in? At what level do they engage in social justice: individual (microlevel), community (mesolevel), or legislative and societal (macrolevel)?
Sharing Your Results
Once you have analyzed and synthesized the results across all interviews, the final step is to develop and share a creative representation that reflects your results. You will have lots of leverage to design your finished product that best represents your perspectives. This is your opportunity to think outside the box and to apply your creativity.

There are 3 requirements for this assignment:
- Share with me (via email or zoom) your creative intentions and how you will accomplish your vision at least one week before the final deadline.
- Make sure your finished product can be saved and shared electronically. Please upload your file to a shared Google Folder in the link below.
- Compose a short reflection (about one paragraph) about whether you are leaning towards a particular setting for your practicum and why this particular setting. If you are unsure, reflect on what information you need and how you will gather this information to help you move closer to this decision. Please email me your reflection.
